GUJRATI VS REST OF THE WORLD

RICH, BUSINESS, VENTURE, ENTERPRENUER, WISDOM.

GUJRATI

I was watching several videos on, what world think of the gujrati people, and it was very surprising for me that the gujaratis are percived for there snacks habits of eating fafda, khaman, dhokla. And who knows them little bit more can say that, they are more money oriented and in the same context they are more risk takers. Obviously it was portraied in the recent movies and series like BAZZAR, SCAM and many more movies. From the recent survey of IIMA it was concluded that every 1 out of 4 gujrati invest in stock market. And in the context it can be concived that their risk taking appetite is quite big.

swiping the pages on instagram, one would find many post regarding to the enterprenuership which is quite lucrative and make him believe that he have to do atleast one startup or business in his life. Affirmatively, he would risk his life and get right share of the success and feel proud of himself. Recently the government of india is insting to develope the startup ecosystem alluring youth of our country to think out of the box and make idea earn for them. But as a gujarati i never saw a startup as an alien which can change my life forever or never felt any kind of gussembup while designing and mind mapping any startup related idea. because it’s in my vein and you would surprise that after completing the civil engineering degree 6 out of 10 my friends started to learn a business irrespective of our branch without thinking of sitting into placement. And in the city like Surat you would find the miniscule amount of people that are employee, as most of them are self employed or managing their own businesses.

So what unique properties are there, that can distinguish the gujarati from rest of the world?

History,

If you check the history of the gujrat right from the ancient civilization you would find that the Mohen jo Daro, indus velly civilization were developed on the bank of river saraswati which was in gujrat, further more, during the british reign the marwari and gujrati people were merely affected by the britishers giving them little more freedom and chance to explore the possibilities of business independancy. means they were the most socialized people in history at that time, here the remarking point is that the business flourishes in the societies. still this gujrati people were not fully independent until 1991 when late prime minister declared the financial independancy giving fuel to the gujarati to hone their skills and enrich their experience.

Yellow represent the hindu king’s reign, grenn narrtes the muslim realm, and pink is for britishers reign in 1857.

Economoic environment

1)

most of the gujrati follows the hindu religion and you would find that in the medieval era under the impression of mirabai, jesal toral, swaminarayan, bhojabhagat, narsinh mehta and many other saints on the people, it was believed that hinduism was reformed and flourished hence the more people were engaged directly or indirectly in religious activity, and people were used to donate the 1.25 percent amount of the money that they have earned in the religious work and this same phenomena was existed in the muslim community also which ,gives the economy extra fludity and enables each and every people of community to catch the notion of why it is required to be a rich.

The second most influential factor that I want to discuss is Gujarat’s environment and topography. Gujarat has a 1600km length of the seashore, On the opposite side, the land is quite bare. Here it is obvious that to sustain in such a dry environment, one has to use all his resources wisely, Same precision asked in the matter of even grains and water. Hence, the lessons of management of assets and liability were in real practice. And the same was weaven in Gujarati’s nature. The risk-taking nature must come from the overseas trade to the middle eastern countries and European countries through the Lothal port, which was the largest and busiest port in the world at a time.

to be continued….
